Creating an old-style poster for Design in Geovisualization course.

Poster Design

The presented poster was dedicated to the course Design in Geovisualization, and the main goal behind it was to combine maps, infographics, old-style fonts, and captivating design elements to offer a powerful tool for grabbing the viewer's attention and generating interest. First and foremost, the visual appeal of such a historical-styled poster is undeniable. The strategic use of khaki colors, old-style illustrations, and unique typography creates a visually striking composition that immediately catches the viewer's eye.

The story of the poster is simple; introducing two main aspects of my home; nature and history. The poster is divided in two feasible parts. The upper part relates to providng a general information about the geography and climate of Iran. The general land-use of the country is combined with chart related to average precipitation and temperature in the last 30 years.
The second part introduces briefly UNESCO-listed histroical buildings and the dedicated graph representing the timeline of the landmarks adds an important layer of historical context. They together evoke a sense of the past and transport viewers to a different era, immersing them in the historical narrative and capturing their imagination. They added stories and images behind the hisoty of the landmarks are also available as a storymap that could be viewed by scanning the QR code.
