SDI Services Implementation

Spatial Data Infrastructure (SDI) principles are guidelines that focus on the effective management and sharing of spatial data. These principles include promoting data sharing among different organizations and stakeholders to reduce redundancy and improve overall data quality and availability. Interoperability is essential, as it ensures that spatial data can be seamlessly exchanged and integrated across different systems and platforms. Metadata, which provides information about the origin, quality, and usage of spatial data, is crucial for facilitating its discovery, evaluation, and appropriate use. The use of data standards helps establish common formats, models, and coordinate systems, ensuring consistency and compatibility among different spatial data sets. Emphasizing data quality ensures that spatial data is accurate, reliable, and suitable for its intended purposes. By adhering to these principles, SDI enables effective utilization of spatial data for decision-making, planning, and analysis across various domains and sectors.

For this task, we used ESRI products to create a dashboard reflecting related information about Covid-19 cases, deaths, number of vaccinations, and so on. Dashboards provide user-friendly interactivity that helps to navigate and explore through the provided sections. The pdf below provides the final presentation of the Covid-1o dashboard for Canada. The dashboard is accessbile HERE.
